Naval Electronics Communications Technician

I am a Naval Electronics Communications Technician onboard HMCS Winnipeg. I joined the Canadian Navy in 2005 and after completion of basic training, attended training at the Canadian Forces Naval Engineering School in Halifax, NS.  I am now an apprentice-qualified communications technician, posted to Victoria, BC to complete my on-the-job training.

My duties include performing maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all shipboard communication equipment.  I work with HMCS Winnipeg’s satellite and tele-communications systems, as well as the numerous radio and test equipment to ensure Winnipeg’s communications are always functioning properly.

At the end of my ship-board training I am confident that I will have the skill set to be a greater asset to the Canadian Forces, both as a technician and as a sailor.
