The Combat Systems Engineering (CSE) Department is responsible for the technical readiness of all the RADARs, SONARs, Radios, Weapons, Ammunition, Navigation Aids and Computer Equipment on board. To accomplish this the CSE Department has a compliment of technicians trained in each of the individual items of equipment.
NET(a) - Acoustic Technicians handle anything involving underwater sensors or our position in the water.
NET(c) -The Communications Techs are some of the busiest technicians within the Combat Systems Engineering Department. Their duties cover a broad spectrum of tasks. They range from maintaining radios and phones to some of the more exotic, like launching weather balloons and ensuring the beer machine is working properly.
NET(t) - Tactical Technicians maintain the Radars, Fire Control and Command and Control System (CCS). This branch handles anything involving detecting and tracking objects outside of the ship and the computer system that ties in most of the NET sensors.
NWT - Naval Weapons Technicians' maintain the various weapon systems, manage the ammunition onboard.
