Overview
Your function will be to provide musical support at a variety of functions for the CF. Musicians play a musical instrument in various musical ensembles performing as section members, principal musicians or soloists. They perform stage set-up duties and selected members may be appointed and be employed as Drum Major or Announcer. Musicians are major contributors to the Canadian Forces' public relations effort.

Musicians in the Reserve provide music for all aspects of military life, including ceremonial parades, graduations, ship ceremonies, public exhibitions and displays, as well as concerts for schools, hospitals and other public functions. They:
Play an instrument in a band and participate in weekly rehearsals
Provide musical support for official and semi-official functions of the Reserve or of other organizations, military or not
Perform band drill and manoeuvres
Play an instrument in concert, marching and dance bands
Select, arrange and conduct music
Perform stage set-up duties
Maintain musical instruments and accessories
Ensure serviceability of audio and recording equipment
Perform administrative functions as necessary
Perform any other task assigned
