HMCS FREDERICTON has been continuing anti-terrorism operations and is now operating in the Gulf of Aden. She has been involved in several Flag Verification Boardings and Assisted Approach Visits; situations where the Naval Boarding Party will approach a vessel in order to gain more information and contribute to the Recognized Maritime Picture in the Gulf of Aden. Spirits are high on the ship, as over 75% of the deployment has now been successfully completed.

HMCS FREDERICTON has recently departed Muscat, Oman after a three day port visit and is now back on patrol in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. The past two weeks have been busy with STALKER (HMCS FREDERICTON's helicopter) training, diving operations, weapons firings and an excellent opportunity to exercise with an F-18 from USS Eisenhower.

HMCS FREDERICTON has had the privilage of participating in three CROSSPOL opportunities and have hosted sailors from the United Arab Emirates Naval Ship DAS (Pics
here), Her Majesty's Australian Ship STUART (Pics
here) and United States Ship CARNEY. These opportunities provide sailors a chance to swap ships for a day, or several days, in order to broaden their breadth of naval experience.
