Continuous Learning

Naval personnel must be capable of thinking critically and managing change so that the Navy can develop its capabilities and prepare for operations as a learning organization. The Canadian Navy is therefore committed to providing its sailors and civilian employees with the learning and professional development necessary to support the mission to defend Canada and Canadian interests.

The Navy is also committed to promoting continuing education for its members. The importance of continuing education in the Navy is reflected in the availability of various programs and services to meet CF goals and personal goals.

Access to the services offered by academic institutions may also be provided to former CF members, the members of families of CF members and to DND employees, in order to permit them to achieve personal and professional learning goals by enabling them to upgrade academic qualifications.
