MS Sevic from reserve unit HMCS Malahat signals that he is good to go.
Part of the February 23-25 dive exercise's purpose was to “metrify” or switch all Canadian Forces divers from imperial to metric systems by April 1. It may sound easy at first blush, but divers have to ensure they know how to operate all the new equipment, gauges, measured tethers, etc., and be familiar with all the new publications and dive tables. The Prince Rupert, B.C. dive exercise was a perfect opportunity to fine-tune these skills.

These reservist sailors had to hold current qualifications and have and proficient skills. Currency means diving once every 90 days. Proficiency is ensured through such regional and unit-level exercises as this, each of which has a very specific check-list.
