Admiral Sir Charles Kingsmill Bust

Last week, the navy accepted a superb bust of Sir Charles Kingsmill, created upon commission of the Canadian Portrait gallery in honour of the navy centennial, by one of Canada’s pre-eminent portrait artists, Mr Christian Corbet (at the right in the photo opposite).  The bust was presented to VAdm McFadden in Ottawa, at a ceremony where the artist was accompanied by the Vice President of the Canadian Portrait Gallery, Mr Dustin Chandler (seen next to CMS) and Mr Benjamin Trickett Mercer (centre), protégé to Mr Corbet, who fashioned the accompanying medallic sculpture that can be seen at the elbow of Capt(N) John Pickford.
