Description
Naval combat cloth nametag “Mulkins” taken from the combat uniform worm by Cdr Mulkins while in command of HMCS KINGSTON, July 2003-Jan 2005. Cdr Mulkins was the first women in Canadian naval history to command a warship.

Description
Cartridge fragments from a round fired from MK16 and MK 21’ guns.

“Q.F.” represents “Quick Fire”, which is an ammunition term referring to the fact that the projectile and the cartridge case are one piece.

“Fixed” refers to the fact that and the propellant charge is a single fixed charge that cannot be reduced before firing for range adjustment. H.E. refers to the fact that the projectile would have been filled with high explosive.

Description
Issued to LS Matthew Barron on 21 September 2005 when he stood his first watch at HMCS CABOT.
MS Matthew Barron joined the navy in September 2002 at HMCS CABOT as a Naval Communications Tech. In the summer of 2005 he re-mustered to a Port Inspection Diver and was promoted from Leading Seaman to Master Seaman on 11 March 2009.

Convoy Cup Medal

Description
The original Convoy Cup races were established in 2002 by the Dartmouth Yacht Club, Royal Norwegian Consulate and the Camp Norway Foundation in Halifax, Nova Scotia. An ocean race, that started and finished in historic Halifax Harbour/Bedford Basin, was held along with the day races and other club events on Bedford Basin, the staging area for the World War II convoys. Now a semi-annual event is held at the Dartmouth Yacht Club with a companion event held at the Wooden Boat Festival in Risor (Norway’s Convoy Town) on alternate years.
